Competitive U.S. East Coast surfer since 1981 and the Director of the Delmarva District of the Eastern Surfing Association for 5 years. In charge of running all of the surfing competitions in the Maryland, Delaware and Virginia tri-state district between April 2003 and May 2008. As the ESA Director, led a successful campaign for a new permanent surfing area at the Ocean City, Maryland inlet jetty in 2007. This resulted in the first increase to surfing beaches in more than 20 years.
